City of God Family,
Recently, Governor Eric Holcomb announced that Indiana’s mask mandate would transition to a mask advisory on April 6. How will this announcement impact worship services at City of God? The following changes will go into effect this Sunday based on the Governor’s directives and conversations with the medical professionals at City of God.
Beginning this Sunday:
- Our 9:45 and our 11:00 services will transition to a “masks recommended but not required” policy.
- We will continue to require masks at our 8:30 service as an option for those who are not comfortable attending at 9:45 or 11:00.
- We will continue to ask people to register for services through the end of April. We are not requiring registrations for our Celebration Sunday Service on May 2, and following that Sunday, we will no longer require registrations.
- On May 9, we will transition to our summer schedule. As of now, those services will take place at 9:00 and 10:30 and, barring further announcements, will both operate under a “masks recommended but not required” policy.
Over the course of the past year, our elders committed to making decisions based on the directives of our elected officials and the advice of the medical professionals at City of God. Both of those groups are now instructing us that this is a reasonable course of action moving forward. If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out. It was great to see so many of you at our Easter service yesterday, and we’re excited to see what God has in store for us in the coming months.
- Pastor Eric
